Trailer Conventions

This trailer starts with slow paced chaos before moving through the rules of the purge, the idea of anarchy and high paced action would work well with our trailer since it gives basic understanding of the characters and their backgrounds but not giving away the full story so people go and watch it in the cinema.







The Babadook shows the personality change that we want in the movie trailer, the exact idea that someone so innocent could be corrupted so easily without anyone knowing it is happening. However I would prefer my trailer involved more brutality and more gore (but not too much to ruin it).
This trailer is great for the movie as it contains everything from development of innocent to evil and the unknown factor of us not knowing if he did it or not, the trailer pulls people in through both the use of a well known actor and the mixture of both horror and comedy. the supernatural use of horns mixed with the realistic life of other people is balanced well and works with the idea of human nature and the true evil within all of us.
